Learning combined with practicing is the one-two punch to learn the French language and other languages as well. They are a left-right combination that must be delivered to make language learning effective.
To memorize vocabulary words will be an exercise in futility if you will not be able to use them in actual communication. Study must be coupled with practice. Learning and practicing the French language is the core of the five steps that will be given in this article.
1. Enroll in a French language course. Enroll in a French class. Learn the French language through a language school with a program for French language. If you think that you are a little uncomfortable in a formal set-up of a language school, check out local community colleges or adult education centers. They are almost certain to have a French language course. If you are a little lucky, there could be a free French language class. Take advantage of it. Get into it and make the most out of those free French lessons.
2. Supplement your studies with all available resources. Do not just be an active student to learn the French language. Be an interactive learner, too. The Internet offers many French language classes. Use the online sources to make your learning richer. There are numerous French courses offered online. Basic vocabulary, grammar, verb, and even pronunciation lessons can be obtained through the Internet. Free online French language courses may even be offered. You can also choose a French language software and install it in your computer. Buy French language CDs, cassette tapes and other materials for your audio needs. Listen to French on radio. Watch French television shows. Listen to French music. Watch any French movie. Listen to people who talk in French.
3. Get and read the necessary French language books. For you to learn the French language, you should equip yourself with French language books. A French grammar book, a French dictionary, and a practical everyday French language book among others will help you a lot in learning and studying the French language. Books that teach everyday French are practical choices. They will tell you how to name persons and objects, how to greet and ask simple questions, how to count, and other basic everyday conversation lines.
